WRITING WORKSHOPS

HAIKU ON THE HOOF

People often mention 'inspiration' in the same breath as poetry. One of the
meanings of this word is to draw air into the lungs. Diana Levy presents a
course on haiku poetry which will have people breathing deeply as they walk
Braidwood and write about the nature around them. Haiku are short Japanese
style poems about nature and anybody can write them. What better way to get
your hand writing than to get your legs moving!

The walks will be short and easy. You'll need: a small pocket-size notebook
and pen, decent walking shoes, water bottle, sun hat, possibly sunscreen,
small backpack, weather-appropriate clothes.

Diana Levy is a published writer, a teacher and performer of many years
standing and is currently writing a book of haiku and prose.

WRITING MARATHON

Saturday 31st March 2.30 pm to 3.30pm with Andrew
Einspruch and Billie Dean. Meet at St. Bede's Hall. Turn up on the day with
pen and paper.

Writing as fast as you can gets those first, uncensored thoughts down on
paper and provides you with insights into your own freshness and orginality.
Working this way in a group is liberating to your imagination and is lots of
fun, too!

Andrew Einspruch is an author of over 50 children's books (fiction and non-fiction) and also a film-maker.
